    Purpose

    The shield as a part of our emblem denotes belief in our democracy, liberty, and the American way of life. The SkillsUSA Board of Directors presents this award annually to highly visible policymakers who have made contributions of significance at the local, state or national level to career and technical education, thereby enhancing, enriching, and improving SkillsUSA Florida and its membership.

    Criteria

    This award is presented to the individual or individuals who are determined to have made the most significant impact on policy related to career and technical education either during the past year or over an extended career of public service. (This award is limited to one recipient per year, and may be awarded posthumously.) The award is open to individuals having decision-making authority as evidenced by public or legal sanctions.

    Nomination

    Nominations to the Florida State Director will be accepted until a specified deadline. This award will be selected by the SkillsUSA Florida State Director.

  • Provide at least 5-7 sentences detailing how the nominee has made the most significant impact on policy related to career and technical education at the local, state or national level, thereby enhancing, enriching, and improving SkillsUSA Florida and its membership, either during the past year or over an extended career of public service. Be as specific as possible, and provide links to video and other media when appropriate.
