Every person deserves to make a living wage working a job they love.

We all want to find a career we’re really good at. But securing a well-paying job doing something you love is tough—especially if you are not equally represented in the skilled trades.

At SkillsUSA Florida, we empower women, nonbinary individuals, and students of color to become world-class workers and leaders so they can support themselves and their families.

SkillsUSA helps turn your dreams into reality with a faster, less expensive route to stable, well-paying jobs.

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. Together, we help every student excel and become champions at work.

We get it—navigating the job landscape can be tough. Gaining work experience, managing apprenticeships, and navigating interviews can be overwhelming—especially without training and support.

Through the online SkillsUSA Career Essentials suite, you can engage in defining, implementing, and measuring your career-readiness skills along every point in your educational journey.

This way, you can turn your dreams into reality with a faster, less expensive route to stable, well-paying jobs.

Successful completion of the program shows employers that you have career-readiness competencies and can demonstrate your ability to successfully contribute to your place of work.

77% of our alumni report they immediately pursued full-time employment or postsecondary education in the same field — or a directly related field — that they studied while a SkillsUSA student.

The SkillsUSA Framework is the foundation for all SkillsUSA educational programs, resources and products. The Framework — updated in 2020 — is divided into three main components, and a total of 17 “Essential Elements” are divided among those three components. The Framework Essential Elements were developed with the direct input of over 1,000 employers. They represent the skills employers consider the most crucial for a successful hire.

Help an elementary or middle school student discover the possibilities of STEM.

Through the Student2Student Mentoring program, you demonstrate your leadership and skills by mentoring younger students in elementary or middle school. You’ll have a chance to talk about and demonstrate your skills while inspiring future engineers, electricians, computer scientists, and more.

Nervous? Don’t worry. We’ll share our curriculum guides with you so you can feel confident talking with elementary and middle school students about careers in STEM.
